Digital accounting has seen a huge increase in popularity recently and it has the potential to transform the way you run your business. With the Government’s plan to make digital record keeping compulsory for most businesses over the next few years there has never been a better time to review your options. The Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative
MTD requires businesses to keep their records digitally, and submit their financial data on a quarterly basis as well as annually.
Currently sole traders and landlords with a turnover greater than £50,000 will need to keep their records digitally and report quarterly. From 6th April 2027 this limit falls to £35,000 and for the following tax year to £20,000.
If you do not currently use a digital accounting package you will need to upgrade. Having spent much time researching providers, Child & Child Accountants recommend Xero.
